SIGETA StarQuest 120/700 Alt-AZ is a Newtonian reflector on an alt-azimuth mount, designed for a wide range of astronomical observations. Thanks to its 120 mm aperture and fast optical system, the telescope efficiently gathers light, allowing you to observe lunar details, basic features of Solar System planets, as well as bright nebulae, galaxies, and star clusters. The compact and robust construction ensures convenient transportation and quick deployment at observation sites, making it a versatile instrument for both stationary and field astronomical sessions.

The optical tube features a 120 mm parabolic primary mirror with highly reflective aluminum coating protected by a silicon dioxide layer. The short 700 mm focal length (F/5.8) provides a sufficiently wide field of view, convenient for observing extended deep space objects. The tube body is made of steel with zinc coating and internal blackening, which reduces stray reflections and increases image contrast.

Available observation targets include: the Moon with all its craters and mountain ranges; Solar System planets and their moons; double and multiple star systems; bright nebulae, galaxies, and star clusters; as well as comets and asteroids — all can be observed in detail thanks to the high optical quality and compact construction.

The telescope comes with two 1.25" (31.7 mm) eyepieces: Kellner 25 mm for wide field of view and low magnifications (28x — convenient for finding objects and viewing large clusters) and Plössl 10 mm for medium magnifications (70x — a versatile magnification for most objects). The 3x Barlow lens provides additional magnifications of 84x and 210x for detailed study of planets and double stars. The 1.25-inch rack-and-pinion focuser with helical mechanism ensures smooth and precise focusing, allowing the use of a wide range of eyepieces and accessories.

The alt-azimuth mount with slow-motion controls on both axes ensures precise pointing and smooth tracking of objects. For quick targeting, a Red Dot collimator finder is provided. The telescope can be easily moved by hand, after which the slow-motion controls allow precise adjustment of the tube position.

The tube attaches to the mount via standard dovetail connection, opening the possibility to mount the telescope on professional equatorial or GoTo mounts in the future for automatic pointing at celestial objects.
