SIGETA StarMAK 90/1250 Alt-AZ is a compact Maksutov-Cassegrain catadioptric telescope on an alt-azimuth mount, designed for detailed observations of planets, the Moon, and the brightest compact deep space objects. The 90 mm aperture combined with a long focal length optical design (F/13.9) produces high-contrast, sharp images optimal for objects with small angular sizes. The 1250 mm focal length in a minimal optical tube length makes the telescope convenient for transportation and use in urban environments, on balconies, or in confined spaces.

The Maksutov-Cassegrain optical system combines the advantages of refractor and reflector telescopes: the meniscus corrector at the tube entrance effectively compensates for spherical aberration, while the secondary mirror, positioned on the inner surface of the meniscus, extends the light path to provide working magnifications suitable for planetary and lunar observations. This design virtually eliminates chromatic aberrations and ensures high image contrast. The closed optical tube protects the optics from dust and turbulent air currents, promoting stable performance after achieving thermal equilibrium.

This model allows detailed observation of Solar System planets — the disc structures of Jupiter and Saturn, Saturn's rings, and the phases of Venus and Mercury. The lunar surface reveals a high level of detail: craters, mountain ranges, maria, and shadow structures are clearly visible. You can also observe planetary moons, including Jupiter's Galilean satellites and Titan near Saturn, double and multiple star systems with moderate angular separations, as well as bright compact deep space objects — planetary nebulae, globular clusters, and individual galaxies. The telescope is also suitable for observing comets and asteroids.

The SIGETA StarMAK 90/1250 Alt-AZ telescope comes with two standard 1.25" (31.7 mm) eyepieces: Kellner 25 mm, providing 50x magnification for convenient object finding and lunar viewing, and Plössl 10 mm with 125x magnification, optimal for detailed planetary and lunar observations.

Focusing is achieved by moving the primary mirror using the adjustment knob on the rear of the optical tube. The 1.25" focuser barrel diameter allows the use of a wide selection of additional eyepieces and accessories. The diagonal mirror ensures comfortable observation of objects near the zenith and expands the telescope's capabilities for terrestrial observations.

The telescope includes a single-arm alt-azimuth mount with smooth movement in altitude and azimuth. For quick initial targeting, a Red Dot collimator finder with red reticle is used.
