To the category: Telescopes / Catadioptric telescopes
SIGETA SkyTouch 90/1250 Alt-AZ GoTo is a Maksutov-Cassegrain catadioptric telescope equipped with a computerized mount featuring automatic GoTo pointing and object tracking capabilities. This model is designed for astronomy enthusiasts who value the combination of portable optics, convenient operation, and automated celestial object search functionality. The 90 mm aperture combined with a long focal length optical design (F/13.9) delivers sharp and high-contrast images of the Moon, planets, and bright deep space objects. With its 1250 mm focal length in a compact optical tube, the telescope is convenient to use in urban environments, on balconies, or in confined spaces.
The telescope allows detailed observation of Solar System planets — the disc structures of Jupiter and Saturn, Saturn's rings, as well as the phases of Venus and Mercury. The Moon reveals a high level of detail: craters, mountain ranges, lunar maria, and subtle shadow transitions are clearly visible. Additionally, you can observe planetary moons, including Jupiter's Galilean satellites and Titan near Saturn, double and multiple star systems with moderate angular separations, as well as bright compact deep space objects — globular clusters, planetary nebulae, and individual galaxies. The telescope is also suitable for observing comets and asteroids.
The SIGETA SkyTouch 90/1250 Alt-AZ GoTo telescope comes with two standard 1.25" (31.7 mm) eyepieces: Kellner 25 mm, providing 50x magnification for wide-field observations and lunar viewing, and Plössl 10 mm with 125x magnification for more detailed planetary and lunar observations. Focusing is achieved by moving the primary mirror using the focus knob located on the rear of the optical tube. The diagonal mirror enhances viewing comfort for objects near the zenith and expands the telescope's capabilities for terrestrial observations.
The optical tube is mounted on a computerized alt-azimuth mount with automatic GoTo pointing and object tracking. Control is via a wired hand controller that connects through the USB interface. The built-in database contains over 30,000 astronomical objects, and the automatic tracking system compensates for Earth's rotation, allowing extended observation of objects in the field of view.
The mount can be powered by eight AA batteries or an optional 12V / 500 mA adapter. Servo motors on both axes are controlled by a 32-bit microprocessor that applies self-adaptive algorithms for smooth movement and precise tracking speed correction.
The two-section tripod features height adjustment ranging from 72 to 125 cm and is equipped with a practical accessory tray. Rubberized feet combined with a rigid construction ensure reliable stability of the entire system during observations.
