To the category: Telescopes / Catadioptric telescopes
SIGETA SkyTouch 127/1500 Alt-AZ GoTo is a Maksutov-Cassegrain catadioptric telescope equipped with a computerized mount featuring automatic GoTo pointing and object tracking capabilities. This model is designed for astronomy enthusiasts seeking a combination of high performance, compact construction, and convenient automated control. The 127 mm aperture combined with a long focal length design (F/11.8) delivers high contrast and detail when observing planets, the Moon, and numerous deep space objects. With its 1500 mm focal length, the telescope maintains compact dimensions, making it convenient for use in urban environments, on balconies, or in spaces with limited room.
The telescope's superior optical capabilities allow detailed study of Solar System planets — the disc structures of Jupiter and Saturn, Saturn's rings, the phases of Venus and Mercury, as well as the colored discs of Uranus and Neptune. The lunar surface reveals itself with high resolution: craters, mountain ranges, maria, and fine shadow structures are clearly visible. You can also observe planetary moons, including Jupiter's Galilean satellites and Titan near Saturn, double and multiple star systems with small angular separations, as well as a wide range of deep space objects — from bright to faint galaxies, nebulae, and star clusters from the Messier, NGC, and other catalogs.
The SIGETA SkyTouch 127/1500 Alt-AZ GoTo telescope comes with two standard 1.25" (31.7 mm) eyepieces: Kellner 25 mm, providing 60x magnification for object finding and general lunar viewing, and Plössl 10 mm with 150x magnification for detailed planetary and lunar surface observations. Focusing is achieved by moving the primary mirror using the adjustment knob located on the rear of the optical tube. The diagonal mirror in a metal housing ensures comfortable observation of objects near the zenith and expands the telescope's capabilities for terrestrial observations.
The optical tube is mounted on a computerized alt-azimuth mount with automatic GoTo pointing and object tracking. Control is via a wired USB controller. The built-in database contains over 30,000 celestial objects, and the automatic tracking system compensates for Earth's rotation, allowing extended and comfortable observations.
The mount can be powered by eight AA batteries or an optional 12V / 500 mA AC adapter. Servo motors on both axes are controlled by a 32-bit microprocessor that uses self-adaptive algorithms for smooth movement and precise tracking speed correction.
The two-section tripod features height adjustment ranging from 72 to 125 cm and is equipped with a tray for accessory storage. Non-slip feet combined with a rigid construction ensure stability of the entire system during observations.
