The SIGETA SkyTouch 102 GoTo is a Newtonian reflector telescope with computer-controlled mounting, high-quality optics and a good array of equipment. Over 30,000 objects from several catalogues can be observed, including Mercury phases, Moon craters, Mars seas, Uranus and Neptune in the shape of small disks.
The principal spherical mirror focuses the image perfectly, even at the maximum useful magnification (204x). Huygens 20 mm ( 32x ) eyepieces and symmetrical Ramsden 6 mm ( 106x ) are included, with multi-coated lenses providing sharp and contrast-rich images. The Barlow lens can magnify the power of the eyepiece by three times 32x to 96x and 106x to 318x correspondingly. The Red dot eye finder is used to bring a telescope to bear on object and has two brightness levels.
The Alt-Azimuth computerised mounting is easy and simple to fit to a steel tripod. Convenient for use, quick installation and the tube is attached to the mount using a dovetail. The mounting is powered by a 12V/500mA AC adapter or 8 AA batteries and the SkyTouch remote control is connected to the mount via USB. The system stores the coordinates of Solar System objects, galaxies and constellations. Numerous star clusters and nebulae can be viewed using the SAO (23,544), NCG (7,840) and Messiers (110) catalogues. The computer-controlled function is very simple: select the object of interest from the list and the telescope will immediately start moving towards it; the location is shown on the screen. Tripod height is adjustable from 0.65m to 1.20m, the tripod ends are rubber coated and an accessory shelf is provided for sturdy use.
This model is perfect for getting to know the space: it is easy to set up and use, the computerised mounting and optics will help you to find and view celestial objects, even without knowing their precise location.
