SIGETA Meridia II 114/900 AZ is the updated second iteration of one of the most popular telescopes from the SIGETA brand, now supplied with a smartphone adapter as well as Moon and Solar System planet maps. This long-focus Newtonian reflector is endowed with excellent characteristics, and the quality of the formed image is not inferior to higher-class instruments. Simple to use and primarily oriented toward beginners, but may also interest experienced amateur astronomers.

The heart of the telescope's optical system is a spherical primary mirror with a diameter of 114 mm. It gathers enough light to provide a bright image and make faint objects more visible. This model allows observing objects up to 12.38 stellar magnitude (for comparison: the naked eye can see only up to 6th magnitude). The mirror size also affects resolution, which in this telescope allows distinguishing stars located more than 1.21 arc seconds apart from each other.

The f/7.8 focal ratio makes the instrument universal — it is suitable for both planetary observations and deep space object research. You will be able to see several hundred details on the Moon's surface, Jupiter's atmosphere, Saturn's rings and disc, Mars' polar cap, observe Mercury and Venus phases, distinguish the colored discs of Uranus and Neptune, track comets approaching Earth, observe bright star clusters, nebulae, and even some galaxies.

Thanks to the included smartphone adapter, you can capture what you see through the telescope using your phone's camera. Simply attach it to the eyepiece using the adapter, and you can photograph or record videos of favorite objects to later share with friends and family.

The telescope comes with a set of eyepieces with optimally selected focal lengths: SR 4 mm, H 12.5 mm, and H 20 mm, providing magnifications of 225x, 72x, and 45x. The focuser has a standard 1.25" barrel diameter, allowing future expansion of the kit with additional eyepieces. To expand optical capabilities, a Barlow lens is included that doubles the focal length and accordingly increases magnification to 450x, 144x, and 90x.

The telescope tube is made of lightweight metal and is mounted on an easy-to-use azimuth mount. The aluminum tripod is equipped with a plastic accessory tray and has height-adjustable legs. Despite quite large optical parameters, the instrument has relatively small dimensions and moderate weight, facilitating storage and transportation by one person. SIGETA Meridia II 114/900 AZ comes in a bright festive box with space design, making it an ideal gift option.
