SIGETA Kleo II 40/400 AZ is the updated second iteration of the popular children's telescope from the SIGETA brand, now enhanced with Moon and Solar System planet maps. This is a short-focus refractor of entry level, designed for astronomical observations at low magnifications. Perfect for children and teenagers taking their first steps in exploring the starry sky, particularly our planet's closest neighbor — the Moon, as well as for terrestrial observations. Very compact, reliable, and simple to use. The telescope comes in a bright colorful box, making it an excellent gift for a young astronomer.

The 40 mm aperture and 400 mm focal length provide an f/10 focal ratio, which is typical for beginner telescopes. This optical system is well-suited for observing large craters, maria, and mountain ranges on the Moon. You can also see Jupiter's moons, Venus phases, while Saturn, Mars, and Mercury appear as different colored stars. Under favorable conditions, some bright star clusters and constellations are accessible.

To begin observations, simply assemble all telescope components correctly. This is done quickly and requires no additional tools. First, insert the diagonal mirror into the eyepiece assembly, then one of the two included eyepieces. The H 20 mm and H 12.5 mm eyepieces provide magnifications of 20x and 32x respectively. Next, install the 5x18 optical finder, which helps orient on the sky and quickly locate bright objects for further observation through the eyepiece. Assembly is completed by mounting the optical tube on the convenient tabletop tripod with azimuth mount. This allows rotating the telescope in horizontal and vertical planes, providing simple and intuitive pointing.

A compass is mounted on the tube body to help properly orient the telescope to cardinal directions. The diagonal mirror allows comfortable observation of objects located high above the horizon (in the zenith zone) without tilting your head back. Additionally, it creates an upright but mirror-reversed image, which is important for terrestrial observations and astronomy beginners.
