SIGETA MS-214 LED 20x-Bino 40x Stereo is a professionally designed stereoscopic (repair) microscope equipped with an achromatic optic and a respectable operating range (80 mm). It has a double smoke LED backlight with individual control; is intended for studying objects in transmitted, reflected and mixed light.
Microscope nose piece is equipped with 2 two paired stereo 2x and 4x lenses with chromatic aberration correction. Working magnification is switched by rotating the revolving nose piece: increase (2x → 4x) - clockwise, decrease - counterclockwise.
The assembled pair of WF10x eyepieces is constructed on the Kelner achromatic scheme and features an extended exit pupil. This enables the researcher to work with the microscope without having to remove the eyepieces, simply by removing the rubber covers from the eyepiece rims. The ocular field aperture is 20 mm in diameter and the angular field of view is 40°.
The overall magnification of the SIGETA MS-214 LED 20x-40x stereomicroscope is 20x or 40x depending on the multiplicity of the active objective lens. Because of the antireflection coating on the ocular and objective lenses, the optics creates a contrasting and bright 3D image at any magnification.
Focussing on the research object is accomplished by rising-lowering the optical block, moving along the vertical frame with the help of the mechanism of the rack transmission. In the middle of the frame there are double-sided focus regulators: the rotation of any of them causes the turning of the revolving nose piece with the lenses and the upper illuminator. External lamp holder offers the flexibility of adjusting the lamp slope: irrespective of the focal distance, it is always possible to turn the light onto the specimen stand.
Upper and lower illuminators are activated both individually and collectively - when observing in mixed light. Brightness level is adjusted separately for each of the lamps with two knobs at the base of the housing.
For the convenience of both children and adults, MS-214 is a tripod-mounted binocular head with a broad range of adjustment of the interpupillary distance (51-75 mm) and the possibility of dioptre correction: it allows even first graders to choose the appropriate parameters. Children can learn the rules of working with SIGETA MS-214 easy, but with the transfer and installation of the device by themselves they will not be able to cope. The microscope weighs over 3 kg, you have to lift up it with one hand, using the special metal handle on top of the frame. But, owing to the massive stand of a large size, the instrument stands firmly even on a not completely level surface.
