MB-302 40x-1600x LED Trino is a biological microscope with two eyepiece tubes and an additional optical port for a digital camera. It is designed for clinical laboratory diagnostics, examination of morphological changes in plant and animal tissues as well as photo and video recording of experimental results (camera purchased separately).

The main advantages of the model are its high degree of aberration correction, high-quality illumination system, ergonomic design and precision mechanical components. If required, the instrument can be equipped with accessories for darkfield and other types of optical microscopy.

The basic version of the SIGETA MB-302 microscope features 8 magnification modes ranging from 40x to 1600x. The kit contains 4 high-aperture (multi-coated) achromatic objectives and 2 pairs of eyepieces with different magnification. The optical surfaces of the eyepieces are also coated with anti-reflective material. All surfaces of the microscope that may come in contact with fluids or slide fragments are antifungal treated.

The trinocular microscope head rotates freely on a horizontal base. The distance between the binocular head tubes is manually adjustable with a marking on the end of the central shaft indicating the millimetre axis distance (54 to 75 mm).

The flexible metal frame is fixed on a solid base with non-slip feet: this construction is almost impossible to overturn accidentally. Focal length adjustment is done by moving the stage while the optical unit remains stationary. The two-way macro and micro screw mechanism control assembly consists of coaxial coarse and fine focus handles. The screw-type stop of the stage is designed to ensure a safe distance between the objective and the coverslip when focusing at high magnifications.

The SIGETA MB-302 microscope stage is equipped with micrometer calipers with vernier scale which are controlled by turning the coaxial knobs. The tabletop has a stain and scratch resistant soft-touch coating: the micrometer slide calipers move the slide smoothly and without difficulty, placing the specimen under the objective. Slide movement range is 7.2 x 3 cm, table top dimensions are 12.5 x 11.5 cm.

Microscope illumination system consists of a 1W LED lamp, aspherical manifold, and classic Abbe condenser with multi-blade aperture diaphragm and filter holder. By moving the aperture slider, the aperture changes its size: by adjusting the diameter, you can influence the illumination and contrast of the image as seen through the eyepiece.

The condenser can be centred and the distance to the stage can be adjusted for perfectly fine-tuning the illumination. This enables a contrasting and bright image over the entire field of view when working with different combinations of eyepieces and lenses.
