#65233 – Microscope SIGETA MB-120 40x-1000x

The SIGETA MB-120 (40x-1000x) is an entry level biological microscope, the most widely used microscope in schools. With its compact, low height and flexible metal base, it easily fits on a pupil's desk. The monocular head of tube is easily rotatable 360° in both directions so that fellow students can work with the microscope alternately without moving from their seats.

The SIGETA MB-120 microscope kit consists of 3 quality achromat lenses (4x, 10x, 40x) and a pair of WF glasses of different magnifications (10x and 25x). The most powerful objective lens and eyepiece will give a total optical magnification of 1000x. This is sufficient for examining painted microbiological specimens, fabrics and fluids of living beings.

A coaxial focusing unit is mounted on each side of the microscope body. The image sharpness is obtained by lifting and lowering the slide platform. The operating distance depends on the lens power selected: for 4x it is 3.3 cm, for others 0.6 cm and 0.05 cm (in the order of increasing magnification). To avoid crushing of the coverslip during focusing at high magnifications, a stroke limitation of the slide is applied.

The square slide platform is fitted with micrometric calipers offering a broad range of movement - 4.8 cm in width and 1.4 cm in depth. Coordinate verniers are installed along both sides for a visual assessment of linear dimensions.

The model MB-120 is equipped with a bottom LED backlight which allows you to work with slides in transmitted light. The LED brightness is finely controlled by a knob in the base of the instrument; the cone of light width can be changed manually by rotating the disc aperture under the objective table.

A significant benefit of the MB-120 compared to competitors in its price category is the double power system. The illumination system of this model may be powered from a 220 V circuit or from a fixed rechargeable battery. In this way, the microscope and the researcher are not ""tied"" to a power outlet: you can work with the SIGETA MB-120 at any location.
