The SIGETA MB-115 is a high quality biological microscope intended to enthrall the world of microscopy. With its glass optics, both upper and lower LED illumination and a wide variety of optional magnifications, this apparatus appeals both for home use and for school laboratory teaching.
Manufactured with robust engineering plastic, the microscope features a classic design. Its monocular attachment is angled at comfortable 45° to minimise observation fatigue during extended periods of operation. The detachable eyepieces included in the kit have a magnification of 10x and 20x. The revolving mechanism of the microscope is equipped with 3 interchangeable lenses with 4x, 10x and 40x magnification - hence the microscope can provide 6 possible magnifications ranging from 40x to 800x. Enough for amateur observation as well as for teaching in a school biology course. Furthermore, a different eyepiece magnification can be added to this microscope and a digital camera can be installed for taking photographs and videos of microscopic objects.
Microscope setting is very simple and intuitive. The image sharpness is controlled by shifting the objective table using the focus screws. The illumination brightness can be regulated at different magnifications by means of the illumination power control disc and also by means of a 6-hole disc orifice of different dimensions located under the microscope objective table. Fully autonomous and safe to operate, there is no need to plug in to 220V as the microscope can be powered by 3 AA batteries which provide enough power for a long period of time.
A large amount of objects can be observed with this microscope. Upper and lower illumination enables both transparent and non-transparent objects to be observed. There are many different examples for lower illumination examination: it can be a thin slice of any vegetable or fruit, a drop of blood or other liquid - but the main requirement is that the specimen is able to transmit light. Upper illumination and a minimum magnification lens are more commonly used to examine small insects (beetles, spiders, flies, mosquitoes, etc.).
Due to its versatility and the high quality of its construction and components, it is well worth considering and recommended as the first tool for children and adults to broaden their horizons.
