SIGETA WF 20x/10mm is a wide-field microscope eyepiece, magnifying the image built up by the objective lens by 20 times. It is assembled using the Kelner inverse achromatic scheme: in spite of the high magnification power, this type of eyepiece is characterised by increased operating convenience due to a substantial exit pupil extension.
The optical system of the SIGETA WF 20x/10mm eyepiece is comprised of three elements. The plano-concave and double-convex lenses are glued together in order to correct chromatic aberration, the resulting plano-convex doublet is mounted in place of the field lens. The eye lens is also plano-convex, facing externally with the flat side.
The eyepiece has a standard mounting diameter so is suitable for the vast majority of biological microscopes. Within the affordable price range, the WF 20x is virtually unbeatable in terms of construction quality, level of aberration correction and multiplicity/aperture ratio.
