The SIGETA MCMOS 5100 5.1Mp is a robust USB microscope camera optimised for optics and PC resources. Appropriate for all types of microscopes except fluorescence microscopes. The characteristics of the MCMOS 5100 model form the golden mean between the two edges - maximum resolution and high signal-to-noise ratio.

The sensor of the MCMOS 5100 digital camera has 5.7 x 4.28 mm physical size at 5.1 Mpx resolution; each pixel width is 2.2 μm. That means the maximum pixel dimensions of the image will be 2592x1944 (4 : 3). In some specific cases 2x2 or 4x4 binarization - combining four or 16 pixels into a single "super pixel" - can be used to speed up video recording or reduce digital noise. Thus images will be stored in 1296x972 or 648x486 formats respectively.

The camera shutter speed is adjusted in the range of 0.2ms-2 with instant electronic shutter; white balance is automatically set or manually adjusted. In conjunction with a microscope equipped with neutral colour temperature lighting, the MCMOS 5100 5.1Mp camera displays clear, contrast and rich colour micro-images. With Ultra-Fine Color, natural colours and clear colour shades will be preserved in photos.

The MCMOS 5100 5.1MP electronic eyepiece functions with the powerful image capturing and processing software supplied with CD (ToupView CD). A micrometer slide is included in the kit for calibrating the camera for measuring linear dimensions in the photo.

The camera housing and ring adapters are constructed from solid aluminium alloy: they are scratch resistant and have no retractable parts. With proper storage and operation, the device will operate for a long time.
