To the category: Digital cameras
Miniature camera eyepiece for biological and stereoscopic microscopes. It is connected to a computer via a USB 2.0 interface and does not require any additional power supply owing to the high energy efficiency of CMOS technology.
The core of the SIGETA MCMOS 1300 1.3Mp USB camera is the Aptina photosensitive detector: with its physical dimensions of 4.6 x 3.7 mm it has 1.3 MP resolution, meaning each pixel measures 3.6 x 3.6 μm. Due to its considerable pixel size, the strengths of this low power camera lie in its good sensitivity and its enhanced capability to reproduce the brightness ratio of areas in photos.
The shutter speed scale of this CMOS-camera ranges from 0.14 ms to 2 s: with sufficient light such range allows taking photos of "frozen" liquid drops or, conversely, getting frame blur effect during motion.
The MCMOS 1300 1.3Mp digital camera has a conventional C-Mount: its optical block with 10x magnification (homal) makes it suitable for conjunction with a microscope. The homal has a bore diameter of 23.2 mm, which matches the ocular tube diameter of all teaching and most laboratory microscopes. However, for taking pictures with stereo microscopes, where the diameter of the ocular tubes is normally larger, it is necessary to use the adapter in the kit (30mm or 30.5mm).
The MCMOS 1300 1.3MP electronic eyepiece kit comes with a ToupView software CD for image capturing, camera set-up, performing measurements and processing the obtained photos and videos.
