SIGETA Orient is a military (artillery) liquid compass designed for military, tactical, geological or simply tourist use. It has a rugged and well-protected metal housing that reliably protects the device from moisture, falls, bumps and mechanical damage. The model provides the user with a comprehensive set of measurements for effective terrain orientation.
Available measurements:
The compass has a classic and well-proven zinc alloy construction, consisting of a base and a hinged cover. The cover has a sighting window with a distance measuring scale. The main part holds the compass itself, the clinometer, the spirit level and an observation window for alternate readings. The liquid level will allow you to check the correct position of the compass, greatly increasing the accuracy of your measurements.
The floating dial with a fluorescent indicating arrow rotates in a liquid medium, which ensures effective damping of vibrations during rotation. The scale is double-radius from 0° to 360° in both directions, with a graduation of 2°. The swivelling azimuth circle has a fully fluorescent scale, also marked from 0 to 360° in one direction, with a graduation of 5°. The hinged clinometer between the compass and the top cover, marked from 0° to 90°, allows you to determine the angle of inclination of various surfaces.
On both sides of the compass housing there are auxiliary measuring scales: on the left there is a 15 cm ruler and on the right a distance scale of 1:25,000 in metres for determining distances from a map. On the bottom of the housing there is a 1/4" hole for mounting on a tripod as well as a summary table for calculating totals.
The SIGETA Orient compass is covered with a thick protective layer of dark green enamel. The case is locked with a hinged metal clip to which you can attach our or your wrist strap. It includes a padded velcro nylon pouch with belt attachment option.
